How to Play 2048
Build larger numbered tiles by sliding the board until you create 2048. You can keep playing after 2048 if the grid still has legal moves.
First moves
- Swipe or press a direction to slide every tile on the board at once.
- When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile with double the value.
- Try to keep your largest tile in one corner so the rest of the board can feed into it.
Useful habits
- Do not chase every small merge immediately; open space is more valuable than a quick few points.
- Use one main corner and two preferred directions so high tiles stay organized.
- Start a new game if the board gets boxed in and no matching tiles can meet.
About 2048
Slide tiles on a 4×4 grid. Two tiles with the same number merge into one with twice the value. Reach the 2048 tile — and then keep going if you can. Saves persist locally and continue from the terminal.
